Angola Tea

Tea in Angola includes black tea, herbal infusions, and limited green tea options, shaped by import reliance and evolving urban consumption patterns. In cities such as Luanda, tea is available through supermarkets, informal markets, and restaurants, where packaged tea bags and basic loose-leaf products dominate. In smaller cities and rural areas, tea consumption is more dependent on availability, often centered on simple home preparation when accessible. Product variety is influenced by import channels, pricing, and distribution infrastructure, which can limit access to specialty or premium teas. Compared with beverages such as soft drinks and coffee, tea occupies a secondary but stable role, often associated with breakfast or home consumption. Retail visibility remains uneven, with greater variety in urban centers than in outlying regions. As a result, tea in Angola reflects a developing market shaped by infrastructure, import access, and gradual changes in consumer habits.
