Cameroon Tea

Tea in Cameroon includes black tea, green tea, herbal infusions, and locally produced varieties, shaped by both domestic agriculture and import markets. In cities such as Douala and Yaoundé, tea is available through supermarkets, markets, and cafés, where consumers can access both locally produced and imported products. In rural areas, tea consumption is often tied to household use, with availability depending on regional production and distribution. Cameroon’s tea market is influenced by its domestic tea-growing regions, though production levels and infrastructure limit widespread visibility compared to other agricultural sectors. Compared with beverages such as coffee or soft drinks, tea occupies a secondary but consistent role in daily consumption. Product visibility is supported by both local agriculture and retail distribution, though it remains less dominant than other drinks. As a result, tea in Cameroon reflects a developing market shaped by agricultural potential, import reliance, and everyday consumer habits.
